It’s simply our lifestyle
The houses
Some years ago, seeing that the Maramures built heritage is vanishing fast - many ancient wooden houses being demolished to make room for new, huge brick homes, we have decided to save two old houses, built by rare hand hewn oak wood beams. The buildings are dated between the second half of 19 century and the year 1927 (according to an inscription carved on a log), and were previously owned by a lovely old farmer, respectively by a young inheritor who wanted to marry, and was shameful living in an 'out of fashion' house… We have demolished the houses, transported them on our land and reconstructed there piece by piece, a technique used in the past in Maramures. We have personally carried out the renovation work, using old ways and locally produced building materials, and the houses look already to be in perfect harmony with the environmental surroundings. Even if Amizadil House is situated just 6 km away from Sighetu Marmatiei’s town centre, the place is actually a countryside corner surrounded by nature. |
